Project COMMON BOND

Since 2008, Project COMMON BOND has brought together young people from around the world, who have experienced a loss of a family member due to terrorism, war, or mass violence. Working together, the participants build skills in managing conflict, building empathy, and learning leadership skills.

Over 1,300 young adults from 37 nations have participated in this healing and peace-building program.

Project COMMON BOND 2025

Program Overview:

In 2025, Project COMMON BOND will be a 7-day program held at Kripalu, a retreat center. The program will include the following:

  • Daily dignity groups facilitated by trained mental health clinicians

  • Daily electives in art, sports, and peace-building

  • Opportunities to meet new friends, learn and grow

  • Become a part of a global community dedicated to the practice of peace and dignity

In this setting, each participant shares the experience of loss, which allows the young people to bond with one another while experiencing the dignity and humanity of different cultures.

Program Goals:

  • Help participants combat the impacts of isolation and mental health challenges caused by trauma

  • Undo stereotypical ideas about different cultures

  • Build skills in managing conflict and empathy

  • Understand that leading with dignity can be transformative and have a greater impact

  • Provide education on how participants can apply these skills and impact their communities
