Mothers for Dignity
Mothers for Dignity is a healing and connection program for parents who have lost children to mass violence.
This four-day retreat provides a safe and supportive space for mothers who have experienced the unimaginable loss of a child in a mass violence event. Participants come together to navigate their grief and find solace in shared experiences, while making meaningful connections with others who have suffered a similar loss. The program also explores ways to navigate challenges and discover resources that aid in coping and healing.
Dignity Beyond Borders will hold its next in-person retreat at the renowned Kripalu Center in Lenox, Massachusetts, from November 2 to 5, 2025. For further information and registration, please email Kathy@dignitybeyondborders.org.
Through therapeutic group discussions and art therapy exercises, participants are empowered to honor their lost children, find comfort in the support of each other, cultivate resilience, and discover pathways to healing. Guided by trained facilitators, Mothers for Dignity offers practical tools and compassionate guidance as these mothers journey towards hope and healing. The strength and support that women can offer each other are powerful resources to restore dignity in the face of traumatic loss.
Program Objectives:
Provide a safe space for women to share their losses
Create a community of women to offset isolation
