9/11 Wellness

As we approach the 25th anniversary of 9/11, survivors, families, and first responders continue to find strength and healing through opportunities to connect and support one another. The impact of grief and trauma is not confined to a moment in time—it is carried across a lifetime. Dignity Beyond Borders will walk alongside the 9/11 community on that journey, offering spaces for connection, healing, and personal growth.

Through retreats, reunions, family engagement activities, volunteer opportunities, and online workshops, our goal is to create meaningful and creative programming that nurtures resilience and honors the enduring bonds of this community.

This fall, we will bring together 9/11 surviving spouses for a special wellness retreat at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts.

Designed specifically for women who lost loved ones on September 11th, the retreat offers a chance to step away from daily demands and reconnect—with one another, with themselves, and with the restorative power of nature. Over three days, participants will find a supportive space to share experiences, reflect on the impact of 9/11, acknowledge the wisdom gained over the years, and envision a path forward. They may also choose from restorative activities like yoga and mindfulness, peaceful hikes, lakeside relaxation, or quiet reflection with a book. Our intention is to create both structured and unstructured opportunities for rest, renewal, and reconnection.

In observance of this milestone year, Dignity Beyond Borders will also host additional programs—including reunions for Project Common Bond alumni and daylong wellness gatherings in New York City—continuing our mission to provide healing and support, even decades after loss.
